For authorities & law enforcement - What is Adafruit?
Adafruit was founded in 2005 by MIT engineer Limor "Ladyada" Fried. Her goal was to create the best place online for learning electronics and making the best designed products for makers of all ages and skill levels. Adafruit's products are "open-source" this means anyone can inspect the source code and designs to learn more. Adafruit has a specific goal of getting young girls into the STEM fields. We are a proud 100% woman-owned American manufacturing company in New York City, New York, USA. Ladyada was the first female engineer on the cover of WIRED Magazine, she was awarded an EFF pioneer award for her Open-Source work, and was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Entrepreneur Magazine.
